ANI-SON

Disclaimer: Ani-son lovers might have a rude shock when reading the article. If you have heart disease or exhibit inability to control excessive impulsive behaviour, please do not continue reading this article. But boo! You can't get me in any case!

I really loved ani-sons, so I have to write an article bout it! ( actually I have been composing this article for a very, very long time now, like 6 months on and off??!? been dragging my feet on it )

At least once, everybody would sit down, think of why they absolutely loved someone; some thing or their own hobby/hobbies.

K-ON is the latest anison sensation!

The identity:

I used to look for the 'anime' songs genre on the internet. To my lol, 'ani-son' isn't a genre at all! That was a little silly :)

There are jazz, country, blues, electronic, rap, pop j-songs.. Saying Anime has different genres is ehh a little.....

So what makes an anison so much different from a japanese song or any other song?

The answer: There are no difference. Anison is just another j-song : )

Before u all beat me up, I will explain my answer:

It is complicated, even after thinking bout it for a few years, I still can't completely comprehend this whole thing...but here goes..

The fusion of the anime and song:

A song without a video is like a soul without a body, the essence is there, it is just lacking something to give the whole experience a form, of its own, something that we can visualise.

An anime opening n closing sequence can make or break a series. [citation needed]

In the beginning, I used to think one of the reasons why most of the anime sequences are great songs is because they would of course pick the best, if not the better songs for the op/closing videos. They are also of course exceptions, where I find the whole thing sucks, but like art, it is about perspective, personal likes n dislikes..

The union of video and song is perfect[citation needed] (most of the times). There are Animes that I wanted to stop watching. What kept me faithful to the series are the opening and ending themes themselves! To say they have a certain effect on the success of the anime is not an overstatement. First impressions has never been so important. That said, there are also Anime opening/closings that totally spolit the songs! (should I give examples? muhehehe)

An beautifully made anime sequence can make a normal song sounds terrific?!? Or are we just getting used to it (OMG what do I mean!)?

And we delves into human behaviour/habits. wiki-link

A new series comes along and you are watching the first episode, wow a new opening! You find it is ok, don't quite know the characters in the opening sequence. Then as the episodes goes by, you will make sense of the opening, you could relate the characters, know the lyrics(the meaning and how to sing them). All these sounds familiar?

Then after repeated times of looping the new downloaded anison on your computer, you find the tune more likeable, catch-ier, and starts picking up words from the song.

What am I trying to drive at?

Mikuni (wiki) is into remixing too? Shiranakatta!

The startling truth:

Back to the statement earlier, "Anison is just another j-song : )". As much as I don want to admit it, it is the truth. We are only getting accustomed to it! The additon of the video merely boost it, but it does addd another dimension to the whole experience!

Any song can be a hit (ok not just any song..), if done beautifully into an anime opening/closing sequence.

Still have doubts? Lets do an experiment.

We are all not almighty, there are always some animes we have not started watching or have not watch. Now pick one with very good review (good review on overall series, not just the song). Now get hold of the opening song, and of course listen to it. After a few days, go watch the anime.

It is a whole hell of a difference when you get to know the song before u listened to it on the anime. Even I have not got over what I have realised. But all these, have not diminished even a bit of my fondness of ANISON and Anime! still my "best-to" hobby!
