秒速5センチメートル getto!

I have known PLAYASIA for quite sometime now, but I've not (had much chance) bought anything from it yet. So far most of my online purchases are from CDJAPAN. In general, I am still a bit edgy about purchasing online with credit card. WHy don't they include a password or something. Just the card number is enough for them to authorise the transaction? With internet banking having 2-factor authentication, strange the credit card companies didn't catch up.

Ok, that aside, the other day, looking for only my railgun cd brought me here. Playasia sells quite a lot of things... they even have dorobo neko! ( けど, it is only pre-order-status and the date is even longer than Strapya's March ) Hmmm FREE DELIVERY WITHIN SINGAPORE? No harm trying, I thought. It appears to be cheaper than CDJAPAN. IT was a correct and wrong decision.

only my railgun is out of stock(but it says its Back ordered. Ships once restock), ok it shouldn't take long to restock won't it? もう 一週間 だ, あの status わまだ 変わらない。そう... その世界わなにも 変わらない 。なにも。 Hehe, 御免,御免。 現実にわ戻る

Well, I surfed around the site while waiting, and I found 5 Centimeters Per Second with english subs! Actually I found one online sometime ago, it was on AMAZON. But it costs a US$100 over(latest US$166!!) and the packaging ehhh.... So at US19.90 it is a steal! At that price, one might suspect it is bootleg or have really sucky (english) subtitles... Yes those are my worries at first. But it turns out, it is one of my best spent US$19.90 in a while! The staff replied me on email that it is not bootleg, and for the english subtitles, I've seen a few minutes of it, they seeem ok... What! Haha, now it is US$18.90! I couldn't have saved US1 had I waited another week! Haha!

Yes the disc may be Hong Kong version, but it still looks very pretty, with all the goodies... Yorokobu da, minna! Some photos for your viewing..

Love Letter みたい!

Love the postcards!

I'm looking for a place with big screen to watch with my friends! If you are my friend and you are reading this, Lucky you! 友達になっていいな!

And I've also bought Shoko-san's Sorairo Days [CD+DVD], and it is on the way to Singapore. I hope my railgun will follow soon! Hanate! Kokoro ni Kizanda de yume wo mirai sae okiZZari ni shite! Genkai......

Hai..(sign). まってしかないだけだ!

Adapted from real story

Here we have a bank commercial (TC BANK-Taiwan) - 勇敢的母親 adapted from a real-life story. (I don't watch much TV now), I got to know it through a news segment that I happened to see. But hey the auntie's clever to bring along a piece of frequently-used-phrases-sheet :)

Commercial details

And probably(hey I've a very poor memory) the news segment I saw it from

Another testament how noble mothers are.

The following may not true-life, but just as touching, and funny! 0:07 GUY: OK, whatever...... Pls don, don, don, don..... (LOL)

Animelo 2010 news!

This year looks great for Anime!

福山さん,お前ほんとに好い人だ! 約束守る! 真赤な誓いだ! でも場所ちょっと間違いじゃないですか? He must have mistook Shanghai for Singapore! 大変!

Animelo's first overseas concert ka. Given the economic crisis and the shrinking anime industry, this really is the ray of hope shining through the dark clouds! Kibou no hikari da! 希望の光だ! Other than the usual long-time-regular artists, there are Sphere (don look at me, this is my first time hearing the group too, but Tomosaki-san is in it!), fripSide(woo hoo! What they gonna perform should be a no-brainer)...

Strapya

Though I've figured Anime (on the whole), is just another artistic medium for expression, たまたまにわ, I am still part of the crowd-shouting lot that sees it as a genre, phenomenon, sensation, although it doesn't specifically belonged to a company. It is just distinctively Japan! Why do some of the best ideas go to Anime(or manga where it is mostly adapted from) I wondered? Is it a lack of budget? Or Anime/manga has now grown so big, it is the choice for story-telling now? I would have liked to believed in the latter. (I should give it more thought and come up with an article, should I? Mumumuhaha)

Another thing about how Anime has influenced me for the worst, is that I have been turned into a ....all-things-cute-lover! Serious! Boys don't associate with cute. むかし,そ思うだ。Now, it is buy-with-the-excuse-of-getting-it-as-a-present. I've become a closet-kawaii-lover, ha! I guess it's true after all, that how influential the environment is to a person. Not just your hobbies, activities, but your friends, family, experiences - 好いこと, わるいことも. All helped shape what I am today.

I spent my Lunar New Year holiday on a website - Strapya. I was looking for a present(no it's not for you) a very, very belated present. If there is ever an inefficient award, I could run for it.

I got to this website because of dorobo neko, and hell it's popular! It is only available from march! Damn, got to change the present. But I still gonna buy it anyway...muhahaha...

喜ぶ だ! I handpicked out some of the more interesting stuff from the website(I spent about 3 days browsing through it!)...

Summer Wars !!! Delete all your appointments on 25Feb

After a year of waiting, FINALLY Summer Wars comes to our shores! And a year ago when it started screening in Japan, I held on a little hope that it will come to Singapore. I am basing it on that the previous movie 細田 守( Hosoda Mamoru ) made - "The girl who leapt through time" made it here, so there is the possibility that CATHY might screen this too. As I've always said - あきらめるな! 希望信じて! 何時か 願いをきっと 叶える!

And I hope "5 Centimeters per Second" will be shown here. But given the other 2 shows from 新海 誠 (Shinkai Makoto) (Voices of a Distant Star and Voices of a Distant Star) are not screened here(but at least the DVDs are available), I guess the odds aren't very high. But imagine the beautifully-animated backgrounds of the movies in big screens... it must be a visual feast!

Here is nothing...

Enjoy the trailer! (which I've been saving for a year!)

Another trailer! with song!

そして, もひとつ映画発見しました! It is another japanese movie, 3D though. 3D is supposed to be one step up from regular animation, but anyone would be hard-pressed to give any 3D examples that is better animated than regular 2D Anime-styled movies. The fluidity of the 2D, very strangely, is eerily lost. (Actually I shouldn't be giving all these comments as I don't know anything about animation, other than watching them :)

Yona Yona Penguin

Other upcoming movies to look out soon(hehe yes I am a martial-arts-flicks-junkie!!), and other youtube videos...

True Legend (now showing!)

haha am I mistaken? I thought I caught a glimpse of some hip-hop moves(which only in recent years, integrated into quite a lot of martial-arts-movies). Haven't seen Michelle Yeoh in action for a very long time now... and Jay Chou!

14Blades (now showing!)

Legendary Assassin (no news)

Bruce Lee Vs Jet Li

MERANTAU (no news)

Wushu 2009 (no news)

Wow a wushu competition. Although, I don't know all the actors(except for Sammo HUng), this movie looks pretty nice! It is so fast and furious, I wouldn't want to be there if the competitors' hands slip! Scary thought!

Anime fans speaks!

I love to read articles, especially anime-related. And the net has no shortages of it :)

This is a very long article (mostly fan letters) (Answerman 5thFeb), but well worth the read. 現実にわ, 残酷だね... It is comforting to know that there are anime fans who really understand care for the situation at hand... alamak, I missed my chance to post!

"only my railgun" by fripSide

Even when people know those seemingly useless activities are a time-drainer, they would still do it!! それでも遣る! The problem comes when some of us can't strike a balance and indulged excessively. (Sounds familiar??)

As Michael have taught me, it isn't impossible to sing japanese song even if one doesn't know japanese! 不可能でわない! Memorising songs can be fun, fulfilling, enriching (you go in-depth into the song and you learn new words!), frustrating, tedious... all in one package. It is also a test of your determination, whether u can last, memorising the whole song that is. Faster songs are harder, but more satisfying :)... I still remember 'Northern Cross' took me 4 months to finish!!! Mumumuhahaha... but normal songs still usually took a month for me. It is hardworkです!

'only my railgun' is done by fripSide, the title itself shows that it is made for the anime - a true ANISON! 南條愛乃 (Nanjo Yoshino) the vocalist from fripSide is also a seiyuu! She has crazy high-pitch-vocals. (Is there even a low note in the song? ha)

The opening sequence is also done very nicely. Even though the opening has changed, this song still lingers in my mind... (it isn't ORICON no.3 for nothing!)

With reference from animelyrics.com...

hanate! kokoro ni kizanda yume wo mirai sae okizari ni shite
genkai nado shiranai imi nai kono chikara ga hikari chirasu sono saki ni haruka na omoi wo
Release, the dream engraved in my heart, leave even the future behind
This limitless, yet meaningless power Sparkles with light with my feelings at the distance, preceding it
(Comment: ...okiZARI... so fast a killer high pitch!!) Hanate!(Comment: Shoot is a stronger word than release(also fits the shooting the railgun), but then in this context sounded crude... alamak tough job for the translators!! And this part is fast..)

aruite kita kono michi wo furikaeru koto shika
dekinai nara...ima koko de subete wo kowaseru
If I can do nothing but look back at the journey along this road...
I have the choice to destroy everything, right here and now

Worried Kuroko.. Commment: The windmill scene is ok for this slower portion of the song. LOL Kuroko actually looks serious?

kurayami ni ochiru machinami hito wa doko made tachimukaeru no?
kasoku suru sono itami kara dareka wo kitto mamoreru yo
How long can the people stand against this darkness that falls on the city?
Surely somebody will protect them from the pain that is racing through
The speed demon is unleashed again! (emotional: Biribiri having an expression, that something important juat past her - does that suggest her having some affection with Touma? And quickly interrupted by Kuroko☆)

Looking! The(-tsu) blitz-tsu loop this planet-tsu to search-chi way. Only my RAILGUN can shoot it-tsu. imasugu! karada juu wo hikari no hayasa de kake megutta tashikana yokan Look! The blitz loop that (tries to) guide the planet Only my railgun can shoot it. Right now, this definite sensation Runs around my whole body at the speed of light

For that authetic jap feeling, pronounce english Japanese do! The 't's in the sentence you need to put emphasis - pronounce it as 'tsu'! Wha, this sentence have quite a lot of tsu!! I have added for your singing pleasure!! ha...blah to pronounce these all so quickly is a tongue twister for me! まだまだ。 しゅうぎょうwaたりない。
to be continued.....
