とどけ!

Opening Theme: "君に届け (Kimi ni Todoke)" by Tomofumi Tanizawa. There are very few slow songs by males this soothing.. 涼しい..

アニメの世界に戻った! 楽しい! Have been pulling quite a few "all-nighters" these few days just to watch ANIME --- 身体 出来得る限りな!! HAHAHA

Here I am posting another great anime opening song, 君に届け, from the anime of the same name - 君に届け。I don't particularly go out to 'look' for shoujo anime, all those I've watched is mostly through chance/luck. After all, what drawn me to アニメ in the first place is 熱い shounen anime だ! Then moving on to explore other genres, science fiction, supernatural, martial arts, these are still my favourites.

Oh the point that I actually wanted to make is shounen anime now is so terrible now, that I would rather watch shoujo. If it is the me a few years ago, I would have shrugged off friends who would want to recommend me shoujo. The best moments is where I can be thrilled by a show, the adrenaline rush from watching a spectacular battle!!

less side-tracking pls

There is only 24mins in an episode, 26 episodes for most anime. (I have given up wishing that every anime gets to follow the manga to the end. It is too difficult to make a strong case, economically-risky to animate just everything, given the state of the industry. ) Good directing of a movie, not just anime, is very important, and it separates the trash from the oscars-nominees. Every minute of the reel counts, every action/plot turns must have a meaning(or best - multiple meanings).
And ああ.. how exciting, we have powerful magicians running away from a mere mob...
I would like to repeat again - only 24mins per episode. While most are not as bad as DragonBall (shudders), but still a large chunk of reeltime went to - (fan-service) either a guy accidently touches a woman/saw her in the buff, then receiving the beating for it. I am not against the harem, but the excessive service is killing the show! Absolutely nothing to do with the plot. Index is such a fine example. It has gotten so boring and monotonous, it's just suffocating. Touma is doing that all the time... just with different girls each time.
Yeah yeah another girl
An attack effective on Imagine Breaker

Punching a girl is so distasteful!
More 不幸

We would be a lot happier if Misaka was shooting coins instead of hounding Touma..
Whatever..

Nothing amazing, but this note puts a smile on your face
The appeal of Shoujo anime, is so beautifully simple, that when I think deeper about it, I don't know how it works . It reminds me of a Japanese word, 侘寂, generally meaning "Simplicity is beauty". You don't have fanciful fights, what you have however, are very normal human relationships. Yes, normal is the keyword here.

君に届け

The story begins with God of Hell deeming Emma Ai getting too emotional for her work, reincarnate Emma Ai back to the mortal realm, taking away memories of her tragic past, in the hopes that one day, recruit her back on the job again. Hehe ok that's my BS. But both characters share quite a lot of uncanny similarities, long hair; spooky look and most notably voiced by 能登麻美子. When it comes to super-super-popular shoujo series, there is almost only 2 character type (I reasoned ) for the -主人公, either ツンデレ (Tsudere) or ドジっ子 (Dojikko) Our innocent 天然 爽子-ちゃん. But she doesn't mess up so often that to the point it gets irritating in some(or many) cases - in some shows, like tripping every few steps, splashing food/drinks on everyone, breaking stuff, this kind of scenes are another reel-waster(next to fan-service).

さわこ だ!! The power of anime make-overs.

The show is engaging, there are developments in every episode, every scene. First season, that is. From envious; admiration, then turning to love. Then that's where it stops, dead on its tracks, going in some circles. Hell, I never knew confessions can be so complicated, those 3 words. You just have to hand it to 椎名せんせい, how peoples' reservations, inferiority complex(es), uncertainties combined, that the simple act of conveying your feelings could become so messed up.. haha.. That love stories are so sad, frustrating, painful to watch. Makes me want to pull the characters out of the screen to give them a piece of my mind. links .

"Meiya Kadenrou (冥夜花伝廊)"

Katanagatari 1st opening "Meiya Kadenrou (冥夜花伝廊)" by Minami Kuribayashi. Still prefered it over the second one - 刀と鞘 done by ALI PROJECT (strange I can't find it on youtube - only one that is flipped-uploaded by some strange guy?!? why did he flipped it for...). One thing about ALI PROJECT's songs, hehe once you have heard one or two of them, you've (probably) heard them all :) Meiya, on the other hand, is a lot expresssive.

An karaoke attempt... やるな!

Arakawa Bridge と Highschool undead

Haha.. what am I doing here blogging instead of finding a job?

A rather cute anime that I've just finished :

Arakawa under the bridge with its equally cute opening theme :
"Venus to Jesus" by Etsuko Yakushimaru and
ending theme "Sakasama Bridge (逆様ブリッジ)" by Suneohair.

(better than the second season op.. in my opinion)

One of those non-sensical anime, it begins with a peculiar 女の子 - ニノ- self-declared 金星人 Venusian, who saved self-centered Ko-sama, who in-turn, bent on repaying her, by being her lover. hehe. Time to time, there are rare glimpses of a REAL ROCKET!! ( マジて!?!) , and the mysterious influential character that helped prevent the taking-over of the bridge (who I am guessing to be the kappa-mayor), which kept me anticipating. It is a Gintama-みたい show, with the usual ridiculous personalities that the characters will have, absurb humour. But plots are usually meaningless for this kind of genre, *spoiler* don't bother thinking how it will end, because they won't even finish what they set out to tell(maybe in the manga they do). You will be in for lots(and lots) of disappointment from the abrupt ending, just like what I had, for so many series now...... They always end "Open-ended", maybe leaving possibilities for another season, and leaving us(the audience) lost. All the excitement building up, as they going through their make-shift astronaunt training for the venus trip... but.. comes down to nothing in the end.. Mahh, just enjoy the weekly dose of laughter I guess... くやしい けど, 我慢する!

Come down Nino-san. We can't help that the show has ended...

Zombies are all the rage now, if you would believe this article. Why makes zombie flicks so popular I wonder...? Being sort of a fan too, for the Resident Evil film series, I couldn't help but give it a deeper thought. Was it because it is something we wouldn't get(even remotely) to experience? Even world-wars don't come across as impossible as apocalyptic-zombie nightmares. Or that we are all sadists, we just love watching people in the show making difficult humane(or inhumane) decisions for survival. Like injuring a fellow companion to make your escape, taking in a wounded(also means infected) person, saving others even when it means putting yourself in danger, and all the ugly side of human beings that one can bring out with the different scenerios. Or on the other hand, it is just fun, that you can do all those things that you normally won't otherwise do in a 'normal' world, like firing guns(at people-undead that is), breaking into houses, etc.. Highschool of the Dead, anime's take on the resident evil idea. All the main characters are only highschoolers, surviving in the world ravaged with R.E. zombies and trying to make it back home to find their families. We've seen quite a lot of zombie movies, but we haven't gotten down to watch a series(anime) about it, which makes it somehow different/refreshing from the rest of the shows. Ha, even in a zombie infested world, we could still squeeze in some moe/service. And like Arakawa, don expect an ending

Nice opening of the same name as the anime : "HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD" by Kisida Kyodan & The Akebosi Rockets
