Every now and often, a new HD(or super HD or whatever they like to call them) format pops up, as well as a new interface. Huh? The next generation of HD connectivity to be... ethernet cables? HDBaseT. Can our old trusty ethernet cable kill all the new-comers in HD interfaces? But the thought of combining electronics with computers(minus expensive equipments or uncompatible devices) is exciting! And with real-world tested Power-over-ethernet, we have fewer cable mess(translates to lower costs in manufacturing of addition cables so it's greener too). What an irony, Wi-fi killed ethernet, but video revived it! So, time to dig out that old ethernet cable from the store-room again! In a while that is, not so soon :) |
